3 Riads you must stay at in Marrakech
From my 2023 stay in Marrakech, these are my top picks out of the Riads I experienced.
Maison 28
Why it’s a must
The staff working at Maison 28 went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and help us make the absolute most of our trip. By far the best shower of all of the Riads (and hotels!) that we stayed in, the stay felt really luxurious, and we missed our room (Nayla) throughout the rest of our trip. Homemade breakfast on the terrace was switched up daily so it didn’t get dull and was both healthy and delicious. You can even rent out the entire Riad for a large group, including for a retreat, which I would LOVE to do in the future.
We spent: €82 / night for the Nayla room. ($87)
Riad Palais Calipau
Why it’s a must
What a luxury experience. Like staying at the spa! The staff were all really friendly and helpful, the laundry service was fantastic, and the massage I had there was next-level. Their breakfast was my favourite out of all the Riads we stayed in, and the restaurant area features an open fire which was really nice in February when we visited. They offer wine and cocktails, which really elevated the vacation feeling. I am dying to go back in the summer to enjoy their stunning courtyard pool.
We paid: € 104 / night for the standard double room. ($110)
Riad Dar Malwan
Why it’s a must
I was fortunate enough to get to know the Riad’s owner, Khalid, who built this Riad from the ground up by himself. Hand-crafted furniture, hand-carved doors, unique light fixtures, and his own art throughout the Riad make it a truly unique artisan experience for those interested in experiencing Morocco’s skilled craftsmen.
We spent: €40 / night for the double room. ($43)
