The Hole in the Wall
Kilkenny is one of my favourite places in Ireland. It's got this wonderful charm to it. It's right off the river, surrounds a beautiful old castle, and has lots of little nooks and crannies to explore. If you haven't seen my previous posts from Kilkenny, I highly recommend checking out my first visit and last year's visit, when we climbed a round tower.
This year it was just a quick visit. But one place I knew I absolutely wanted to visit was the Hole in the Wall. It's been on my list for about a year now, and I couldn't pass up the chance! While you're walking down Kilkenny's main street, there's an alley that leads you to this wonderful little corner of the world.
Once you turn the corner, it's like walking into a completely different time.
It's supposedly the oldest townhouse left in Ireland. You can read more about the history here.
Before we left, we took a quick stroll over to the castle.
It was a lovely warm day (which we have definitely not gotten much of this summer) so we sat and enjoyed the gardens for a bit.
It was so warm, in fact, that I was able to sit out on the deck that evening!
