Éze

On a recent work trip to southern France, I had a free day before heading home so I took advantage of the time and popped over to Éze with my coworker, Camila! I've wanted to go since my last trip to Nice, so I knew I wanted to make it happen on this trip.

It's a 30 minute bus ride from Nice to Éze village. Most public transportation goes to Éze Sur Mer, which means you have to hike 45 minutes up the mountain to the base of the village. One bus goes straight to the village, but it only runs every a few times a day. It is well worth the planning because this place is incredible.

From the very beginning, the ivy-covered walls, panoramic views, and ornate doors had us stopping every few steps for a photo.

Along the steep, winding roads are lots of little art shops. Paintings, blown glass, handmade leather bags, jewellery, wood sculptures; all kinds of crafts are represented! Most of them are pretty pricey, but they're lovely to look through.

Near the top is an exotic garden. It costs €6 to get in, and it's well worth the price! You get full, unblocked views of the coastline, and the gardens themselves are beautiful. We couldn't get enough of it!

I can't recommend visiting Éze enough.

It was probably the most gorgeous place I've visited so far!
