My biggest announcement in years

Honestly, I don’t know how to start. I’ve been sat here staring at a screen for far too long so I’m hoping if I start typing, the words will come to me! I’ve had my website for a long time, and it’s mostly been a (very expensive) journal. I’ve documented getting my DSLR and self-teaching myself photography, learning to take and develop photos with my grandpa’s film camera, starting to dip my toes into graphic design, my adventures around the world (including moving to another country!), learning how to cook, figuring out digital illustration, and most recently artistic embroidery.

Humble Beginnings

Over the years I’ve had different levels of dedication to my website as my availability has waxed and waned between studies and work. But by and large since its conception, it’s looked the same. Only I don’t look the same anymore, inside or out.

A New Chapter

2022 feels like a new chapter to me in my gut. I knew it was time for an update. I’ve been working so hard on myself for the last couple of years and I wanted to reflect that back into my website. So, here it is! I launched it a few weeks ago, quietly – which wasn’t hard to do given my website has a very minimal following! But I’m hoping that will change. It’s such a good outlet in my free time. As much as I appreciate the employment journey I’ve been on in Ireland, and how different I anticipated it would look, working in the financial sector isn’t creative. At least, not enough for me.

A Leap of Faith

To push myself to devote more of my time to documenting everything I get up to in my free time, I’ve made a big leap and opened up my first store. I’ve dabbled in the past with selling my photography services and prints, but I’ve never put so much time, effort, research, and heart into opening an online store before. I’m taking baby steps for now, but I’m excited to see how this grows over the year. No more waiting for circumstances to be perfect – time is precious!

As a starting point I’m going to be selling custom embroideries, pre-designed embroideries, and digital downloads of wallpapers and graphics directly here, on my website. Until I have a better idea of demand, I’ll be starting out selling printed goods via Society 6. From prints and socks to yoga mats and clocks you’ll find some fun stuff over there! I may end up keeping the store up after I localise printing services since there are some fun product options there. But if you have a minute, I’d love to hear what you’d like to have in your own in print form, whether that’s something to hang on your wall or a card to send to a friend. Which designs of mine are your favourites – or what should I create next? Your feedback will be so valuable as I get my feet under me, so I really appreciate any comments on this blog to help me on my way!

Thanks for being with me here since high school and every step of the way since.
