Versailles

Before we left Paris, we made a quick side trip over to Versailles. I had always heard so much about the amazing grounds, so I was excited to see for myself. When we got off the train, this torrential downpour started. I don't think I've ever seen so much rain at one time in my entire life. We ran from the train station to this covered area across the street and in less than 30 seconds we were completely soaked through, no dry spots left on our clothes whatsoever. We waited out the rain and then finally walked over to the entrance. Although there were some pretty parts, I'm going to have to say that Versailles was the most disappointing part of the trip. It was really just walking through mud and dirt between tall hedges with dirty ponds and very few areas with flowers or anything pretty. But here are a few pictures of the better parts!
