Horseback Riding in the Wicklow Mountains

Another weekend day tour took us back to the Wicklow mountains. Our first stop was a (distant) view of the Powerscout Waterfall, the tallest in the country. A creepy fog rolled in quickly, so we didn't stay too long.

Next on the agenda was the fun part: horseback riding! Somehow I ended up with the most stubborn horse: Panda. So we spent a lot of time chatting with one of the employees in the back and having stern discussions. Unfortunately a lot of the time we were going pretty fast so there was no way I could take pictures of the incredible views. But I did get the chance to snap a few!

Sore but happy, I was thrilled to find out that we'd be visiting Guinness Lake after our second trip to Glendalough. I really did love Glendalough, and still want to go back and hike the trails, but this tour didn't offer much time at the location, which was a bummer. Luckily, we got to visit what was, in my opinion, an even prettier lake! The real name of the lake is Lough Tay, but it is nicknamed for the muddy color of its water and the light sand of its beach, which represent a pint of Guinness. Lough Tay is also the filming location for the show Vikings.

And then... right down the road.... was the best surprise ever: The bridge from P.S. I Love You! Naturally, I daydreamed of meeting Gerard on this scenic road. Which inevitably led to a mock-up of what his proposal would (will?) look like. With Emily substituting for Gerard in the meantime, of course.
